Music resounds at the Bargello PDF Print E-mail

0319-mp_bargelloThe Bargello National Museum will once again open its halls to music on Thursdays during the months of February and March. The concert festival entitled Ludwig Van Beethoven – Sonatas will present compositions for flute, violin, cello, and piano.

Beethoven’s sonatas thus comprise the main theme of the series, but they will also be accompanied by works by important 20th century composers because of the true modernity of the German composer’s musical language and works. Beethoven was the greatest revolutionary of musical aesthetics who ever lived, and the distinguishing traits of his work were little understood by the audiences of his era.tamsin_waley-cohen

The Florentine festival opens with renowned Viennese musician and composer René Clemencic, an early-music expert and virtuoso harpsichord and clavichord player. His presence in the halls of the Bargello on 11th February will make the inauguration a truly exclusive event.
On 25th February, young violinist Tamsin Waley-Cohen and Florentine pianist Gregorio Nardi will perform music by Beethoven and Benjamin.
Then on 4th March, the series will feature pianist Gregorio Nardi performing sonatas by Beethoven and by Klaus Huber accompanied by the soprano Anna Aurigi
A duo composed of flautist Michele Marasco and pianist Sara Matteo will enliven the evening of 11th March with music by Panni, Beethoven, and Cavallari.
Considered one of the best contemporary pianists, Ciro Longobardi will perform music by Stockhausen and Beethoven on 18th March. The festival concludes on 25th March – the circle will be closed with Beethoven sonatas performed by renowned cellist Andrea Nannoni, accompanied by Lucia Nannoni and Giovanna Prestia.
